To help our clients improve
performance and bottom-line results, CRA management consultants apply the
functional skills set forth on the home page. Our business process improvement
assistance most often begins with an intense and fast-paced diagnostic review
frequently resulting from a client with a critical or even an urgent performance
and financial need. The diagnostic is structured to identify underlying matters
at the root of the problem or need accompanied by our recommendation of
“stabilizing” tactics which later are followed with operational, organizational
and technology-based initiatives. Almost always, when we reach this stage, we
are asked to stay on board and assist in a hands-on way in the implementation of
our recommended actions. In our work, we always strive to transfer our knowledge
to the client stakeholders so they take full ownership for the change actions
and results. This approach helps ensure that implemented changes remain in place
after we leave.
In our performance
improvement work, and for that matter, in all our work, we are sensitive to the
impact our on-site presence might have on the organization. We always try to
recognize client anxieties and resistance to change and try to conduct ourselves
in a manner that spawns positive behavior. At the same time, we do not shy away
from hard to swallow recommendations, decisions and actions circumstances
sometimes dictate.
A diagnostic review can take
several days, weeks or even months, depending on the scope and complexity of the
operational and business issues we encounter. The duration of our implementation
assistance obviously depends on the scope and complexity of the change
initiatives. Our work always is under the direction of a CRA project leader
reporting to senior client management or the board of directors. We might use
one professional on a project, or we might use three, four or more depending on
the functional skills required, the urgency of the
situation and the volume of work that must be carried out concurrently.
