Dr. Oster received his medical degree at the College of Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery in Des Moines, Iowa. He has a Board Certification from the American Osteopathic Board of Rehabilitation Medicine. He is a Diplomat with the American Board of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review Physicians. He also is a Diplomat with the American Academy of Pain Management. He holds practice licenses in Michigan, Missouri and Florida. In addition, Dr. Oster is a Fellow in the American Osteopathic College of Rehabilitation Medicine. Dr. Oster has held numerous appointments with colleges, universities and medical societies and is a member of many professional associations in his field of medicine. In addition to the above described work and activities of Dr. Oster, he has served in a leadership and ownership role for six different commercial enterprises engaged in health care delivery and health care insurance. Claude Oster, D.O., F.A.O.C.R.M. is a CRA Senior Associate. Dr. Oster has
more than forty years experience as a medical doctor. His medical practice focus
has been in treating patients with chronic pain conditions. In conjunction with
this practice area, he has shared his medical experience in numerous lectures
and publications addressing the treatment of chronic pain, stress and
musculoskeletal pain, cancer pain, head trauma, carpal tunnel syndrome, and neck
and upper extremity pain. At CRA, Dr. Oster applies his in-depth medical
practice experience in a relatively new area in our litigation support practice
in a review and assessment of patient medical records and the conduct of medical
evaluations. Most often, the occasion for this work is in response to a need
from defense counsel to perform an examination and deliver expert witness
testimony on the medical condition of a plaintiff who is asking for damages
resulting from a claimed injury in an accident at work or outside the work
setting. Dr. Oster’s medical reviews address plaintiff claims for: disability,
worker’s compensation, medical malpractice, on-the-job negligence, prescription
errors and even claims for wrongful death. In carrying out this work at CRA, Dr.
Oster is experienced in offering testimony in depositions and at trial
concerning his evaluations and examinations. Clients for which Dr. Oster has
performed this work include Chrysler Corporation, Ford Motor Company, General
Motors Corporation, the City of Detroit Worker’s Compensation Department, AAA of
Michigan, the Detroit Police and Fire Departments and the City of Detroit Legal
Department.
