In the fast-paced customer-focused environment accompanied by a virtual explosion of business-to-business and business-to-customer technology innovation, clients call on CRA to assess their technology utilization and assist in preparing IT strategic plans. CRA’s assistance in this area often involves an organization-wide evaluation of technology use, desired technology enhancement and longer-term technology strategy. These analyses often lead to CRA’s being called upon for assistance in the preparation of an IT strategic plan (as contrasted with a near-term IT tactical plan). Our evaluation findings and conclusions often lead to the definition of solutions which address application platforms and the possible outsourcing of certain functions which can be performed more cost effectively in that manner. Very often, our IT consulting assistance is an outgrowth of our business processing improvement consulting, in which instances we are asked to respond to the client question, “How effective is our investment in and return on our IT resources?”
