Stuart Paterson is a CRA Senior Associate. Mr. Paterson focuses on assisting government and not-for-profit client organizations prepare strategic and business plans. He also performs operations management analyses for these same types of organizations which lead to the definition and implementation of performance improvement initiatives. In his career, Mr. Paterson has held high level positions of responsibility in state government and in a large not-for-profit organization delivering a number of services to the elderly, the disadvantaged and youth populations. After graduating from college, he held a position as a budget analyst with the State of Michigan Bureau of the Budget. Later, he became the Deputy Director for Medicaid and Information Technology for the Michigan Department of Social Services. He then went on to the State of New York where he served as the Deputy Director for Management Planning. Returning to Michigan, be became the Deputy Director for Administration for the Michigan Department of Public Health. From 1983 to 1999, he held the position of Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Lutheran Social Services of Michigan (LSSM) which today is the largest faith-based non-profit human services organization in Michigan. From 1999 to 2005, he served as a Senior Research Associate with the Citizens Research Council of Michigan. Mr. Paterson received his B.A. degree from the College of Wooster in Ohio. He has completed the coursework for a Masters in Public Administration at Wayne State University.
