Sue A. Slack is a CRA Senior Associate. She has more than 25 years experience in strategic planning, administration, fund raising, and organization and community development for higher education and social services organizations. In recent work with another professional services organization, Ms. Slack was a key person in raising more than 25 million dollars for the Detroit 300 Celebration. Previously, She was vice president for external relations and vice president for administration and finance for the College for Creative Studies (CCS). She served as the chief development officer and was responsible for fund raising, public relations, publications, and alumni and community relations. In her financial executive role, she was responsible for budget, business services, investments, facilities, human resources, and computer services. While at CCS, Ms. Slack led a major performance improvement initiative and also chaired a strategic planning effort.

Earlier, Ms. Slack was the executive director of the University Cultural Center Association, a consortium dedicated to the physical development and promotion of Detroit’s cultural center. Before that, she was with the Neighborhood Service Organization where she managed and provided technical assistance to organizations in community development, strategic planning, organization and program development and fund raising.

Working with the Remington Berke Group, she led a strategic planning effort at Lawrence Technological University. Concurrently, she assisted in a strategic planning assignment for Goodwill industries of Greater Detroit. She also conducted an organizational analysis of the office of the president for a Michigan college.

Ms. Slack has an undergraduate degree from Western Michigan University, a master’s degree in social work from The University of Michigan and an MBA from the Advanced Management Program at Michigan State University.
