COMMUNICATION EXPENSE GROUP (CEG) A COLLABORATIVE ARRANGEMENT WITH CRA CRA and Communication Expense Group, CEG, www.ceg-solutions.com, have entered into a collaborative arrangement to offer CEG services managing telecommunications costs for the clients CRA and CEG serve. CEG, with a strong base of experience in the telecommunications industry, offers a suite of well-developed Telecommunications Financial Management (TFM) solutions that produce for their clients immediate and ongoing savings in telecommunications expenditures. What CEG does fits very well with CRA’s core focus on performance improvement by producing cost-savings early-on and then continuously for the companies they serve. In CEG’s initial work with a client, a CEG review team arranges to obtain and examine all the client’s telephone and data communications invoices (current and past, going back as far as six years) to uncover any incorrect billings, which they have found to almost always be present in the form of over-billings. CEG then engages in the recovery of these over-billings for their client. In instances in which a potential CEG client already has an outsourced or an internal TFM expense review function in place, CEG will perform a validation of the invoice review function and then report on what they find. CEG, as one would expect, enters into a contract with their clients for this review work. When engaged, CEG does not charge for the work effort. CEG is compensated with a percentage of the monies they recover. CEG has found that although they prefer to work with larger companies (their largest up-front over-billing recovery from a single client has been $3.5 million), any company or organization with annual telecommunications expenditures of $150,000 is a candidate for CEG’s services. After CEG completes the initial review, they offer to perform the review function on a regular basis, for which they again are compensated with a percentage of any monies they recover from over-billings. Then, in two additional service offerings for which CEG charges a fee, CEG, in collaboration with two application software partners, provides solutions to: (1.), expedite bill verification, chargeback and payment processes and forecast telecom expenses; and (2.), develop telecommunication asset management processes and continuous improvement process plans. CRA is working with CEG to identify client opportunities to use CEG’s truly value added TFM services. We view this relationship with CEG as a way to add to our performance improvement capabilities in a way in which the clients do not make any initial investment in order to have a high probability of achieving a financial recovery and ongoing management for their telecommunications resources.
