Geoffrey L. Hockman is a CRA Senior Associate. Since 1984, Mr. Hockman has been involved in commercial real estate development focusing on hotel properties locally and nationally. Of note, in our local Michigan market, he was a co-founder, owner and asset manager at the four-star Birmingham Michigan Townsend Hotel. In 1983, Mr. Hockman served as the deputy national campaign manager for the John Glenn Presidential Committee. Earlier, he was a management consulting manager at Touche Ross & Co. in that firm’s Detroit office. At CRA, Mr. Hockman is a member of our performance improvement team. One area of focus is our services to higher education and K-12 schools. He works closely with our O/E Learning, Inc. joint venture team focusing on distance learning course and training certificate solutions for schools, community colleges, colleges and universities. Mr. Hockman served as a Captain in the U.S. Army Material Command. He also has served and continues to serve in many Detroit area community service volunteer roles. These include elected to serve 16 years as a Trustee of the Birmingham (Michigan) School Board of Trustees and five terms as President, elected two terms to the Birmingham City Council where he served as Mayor of Birmingham. He is a member of the Board of Directors at the nationally recognized William Beaumont Hospital where he also serves as a member and Chairman of the Beaumont Foundation Board of Directors. Mr. Hockman earned a B.S. in education at The Ohio State University and an M.B.A. at Ohio University.
